Personal and business, one place
Get your money squared away
Squared connects your accounts, categorizes every transaction, and shows you what came in and what went out. It is built to be right about categories and to never miss income.
Read only access. Squared can see your transactions. It cannot move your money.
Why this one
Two things it does better
Aggregators are easy to build and hard to get right. These are the two places most of them go wrong.
Categories you can trust
Squared never uses your bank's category. It applies your own rules first, then what it has already learned about that merchant, then asks a model - and only about the ones still unresolved. Correct something once and it stays corrected: an edited transaction is never overwritten by a later sync.
Your rules → what it learned → ask the model
Income that never goes missing
Most tools quietly file money coming in as a transfer and your income number comes out low. Squared does the opposite: every credit counts as income until it is proved to be something else - a transfer between your own accounts, a card payment, a refund, or money you put in yourself.
Every credit is income until proven otherwise
How it works
Connect once, then review the leftovers
The goal is a short weekly check, not an evening of bookkeeping.
- Step 1
Connect your accounts
Banks, credit cards, and brokerages connect in a couple of minutes. Cash, property, loans, and crypto you add by hand. Your bank login is entered with your bank, never with us.
- Step 2
It sorts everything out
Every transaction gets a category, a personal or business side, and a merchant it belongs to. New transactions arrive categorized, every night and whenever your bank pushes an update.
- Step 3
You review what it flagged
Anything it wasn't confident about lands in one short queue instead of hiding in the table. Fix it once and the rule sticks for next time.
What you get
Everything in one place, and one number you can trust
Net worth, in full
Bank, card, brokerage, crypto, cash, property, and loans in one number that updates nightly.
Cash flow that adds up
What came in, what went out, and where the difference went - by month and by category.
Budgets per category
Set a monthly target on the categories you actually overspend on. Skip the rest.
Subscriptions, found for you
Recurring charges are detected from your own history, including the annual ones you forgot.
Ask about your money
A built-in assistant that answers from your transactions instead of from general advice.
Business and personal, separated
Every transaction carries a side. Business gets Schedule C categories and job costing, so tax time is a filter and not a weekend.
Security
It reads your money. It cannot move it.
Handing an app your accounts is a real decision. Here is exactly what it can and cannot do.
We never see your bank login
Connections go through Plaid. You sign in with your bank, and Squared receives a token that reads your account - never your password.
Read only, always
Squared can read balances and transactions. There is no payment or transfer capability in the product at all.
Your data is yours alone
Every table is locked to your user at the database level, so one account physically cannot read another’s rows.
Disconnect whenever
Remove a connection from the accounts page and the stored access token goes with it.
Questions worth asking
Which banks work?
Connections run through Plaid, which covers most US banks, credit unions, credit cards, and brokerages. Anything that will not connect can be added as a manual account and updated by hand.
What happens to a category I fix myself?
It is locked. No sync, rule, or model pass will overwrite a transaction you have edited. The same is true for a merchant you have set by hand.
Do I have to run a business to use it?
No. Setup asks how you plan to use it, and personal-only mode hides the business side entirely. You can change your answer later.
Is my income really counted correctly?
That is the design goal. Money coming in is treated as income unless it can be shown to be a transfer between your own accounts, a credit card payment, a refund, or money you contributed yourself. Nothing is written off as a transfer on a guess.
How often does it update?
Whenever your bank pushes new transactions, plus a nightly sync as a fallback, plus a manual sync button when you do not want to wait. Every run is recorded, so a connection that has gone stale is visible rather than silent.
What does it cost?
Squared is free while it is being built. Pricing has not been set, and you will hear about it from us before anything changes.
Find out what you actually made
Connect one account and you will have a categorized month in a few minutes.
